finders keepers design market

As we’ve mentioned more than once before, we love Australian design and made. The Finders Keepers design markets held at the Melbourne Royal Exhibition Buildings this weekend showcased so many amazing local designers selling their wares, and showed just how Australia is developing our own unique sense of design and style. The exhibition building was alive with many, many people, all keen to be a part of the flurry of inspiration bursting out of the space, with everything from clothing to home-wares to jewellery, accessories and art filling the hall. As always my focus was on the home-wares, and it’s become apparent that I must have a slight obsession with ceramics at the moment given most of the products I’m excited to share with you (I’m sure you’ll share my obsession by the end of this blog as well!). I will also share with you another couple of key pieces I loved, some of which I purchased on the night, and others that I’m putting on my list!! I will include the links to the websites of the designers, so that you too can enjoy what they have to offer if you missed out over the weekend.

design truso purse

Gorgeous deco style purses from Truso – enough spots for all your cards, space to fit your phone inside AND they are so individual (and on my list to purchase v. soon!)

interior design zin and bert

Absolutely love the metallics in the range – the gold is just beautiful! Zin + Bert create unique pieces that are edgy street inspired – all of their home-wares are a little piece of art in themselves.

interior design bridget bodenham

I couldn’t really decide which of Bridget Bodenham‘s pieces to show you here, but these hanging planters were the ones that caught my eye at the market. Bridget creates beautiful ceramics including mug’s with metallic tab style handles – totally sweet! Make sure you check out the rest of her range at her website

interior design urban cartel

Another one on my hit list – these sweet milk bottle vases by Urban Cartel. The pastel colours are so on trend, and the two size choices mean that you can get yourself a beautiful little collection!

interior design studio cockatoo

Studio Cockatoo creates fun, easy to live with geometric modern art. All their pieces are original and inject bright, bold colour and new life into every day art subjects.

design nana woo

Love love love these vintage button studs by Nanna Woo! Matt finishes with so many variations of colour, size and pattern, you can find a stud to go with any outfit!

interior design skhiko

We were immediately drawn to these pottery pieces by Shiko – our favourites (not yet featured on their website) were the handle-less drinking cups with beautiful blue glaze.

interior design mod collective

Yes, we realise this isn’t the first time that The Mod Collective has featured on one of our blogs, but we can’t get enough of them! They now have an amazing assortment of colours, and their range includes vast amounts of tableware and lighting.

interior design ketz teacups

This ‘Jungle’ teacup and saucer is one of the beautiful pieces from the range of table ware, napery & art designed by Ketz. We love the hand drawn feel of these designs and the composition of the print on the medium is just perfect.

The Finders Keepers design markets are held twice yearly as an Autumn/Winter & Spring/Summer edition and feature in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. If you liked what you saw here, then make sure you get along to the next one! You can also hit up their website to find a complete listing of the designers that exhibited for the markets if you can’t wait till the next market. Till next time… Jen
