Hello, all! I’m Mari, here with a guest post from Arcadian Home blog. It’s a fantastic place to find interior design inspiration including great decorating ideas for everything from beautiful contemporary floor lamps to warm and cozy rugs for the floor. Today, we’re going to take a little virtual tour of eight rooms that make a design statement with wood. For your inspiration, I’ve pulled together some of my favorite recently discovered images highlighting the beautiful and interesting colors, textures and patterns of wood in today’s interior spaces. Please enjoy! ~ Mari

Wood Statement

Called an origami ceiling, this slatted and slanted wood ceiling lives up to its intriguing name. Assemble Studio has given us something very interesting to think about.

Pit House beautifully displays a wide range of wood from floor to ceiling and covering curved walls. There was a time when beautifully patterned-plywood like this would have been considered unfinished and in need of being covered up by sheet rock or other “appropriate” materials. Aren’t these simple single-bulb glass pendant lights the perfect design choice for this home?

This sleek open kitchen offers a view of two ways to make a design statement with wood—chunky open shelves instead of traditional upper cabinets and chic paler wood fronts with contemporary metal hardware on base cabinetry.

Wood Statement

The author of an interesting Interior Collective blog post on the “new man cave” shares this wood and concrete block design as an illustration of the kitchen as a modern masculine retreat. I am captivated by the color on the wood ceiling panels—it’s so perfect.

Wood Statement

Perhaps this bath is the ultimate design statement in wood. Completely enveloped in wood boards from narrow to wide, this space is all about angles, pattern and the beauty of natural materials.

Wood Statement

Sometimes a single small piece of furniture can make a big design statement. That is the case here in lovely multi-hued wood-clad nightstands with dark top and base. The complex array of wood tones is reinforced by a watercolor effect on the bedding and the warm glow of antique brass from the vintage swing arm wall lamps.

The wall at the head of the bed in this simple bedroom makes a design statement with a dark stained finish and a beautifully detailed grid pattern.

Wood Statement

Not all design statements in wood include wood clad floors, walls and ceilings. Sometimes, it’s all about the unexpected and unique. Here the beauty of this wooden spiral staircase is exaggerated by its sleek glass and concrete surroundings. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
